Olives

One morning...

Eli: I want some Olives

Luna: Maybe for lunch, but right now we are having breakfast. 

     (as a side note, I don't mind none traditional food for breakfast, I don't really like breakfast foods, I just didn't want to open a can of olives at that moment.)

Eli: ok, we can have them for lunch......can I have lunch?

Did you...

I was helping Eli get dressed when he farted.  In my attempt to get him to excuse himself this is the conversation we had.

Luna: Did you fart?
Eli: No, the bubble in my butt popped.

Who was shot?

I was a little late in picking Kiah up from school today.  And because of that she was the last one from her class to be picked-up.  So she talked with her teacher.  I pulled into the lot where we part to pick-up our kids and her teacher kindly walked her across the street to meet me. 

Teacher: Kiah was telling me that someone named Joseph got shot.
 (I thought... well I am sure there have been lots of people named Joseph that have been shot... who was Kiah thinking of? For some reason Joseph from the Old Testament popped in my mind, but he wasn't shot! Then it clicked... She is talking about our trip to Carthage!)
Luna: oh yeah.... in the 1800's. No need to call social services or the police.  We took a trip to Nauvoo and she apparently remembers some of the History lesson.
Teacher: I was trying to figure it out.  I didn't know i it was a family member.  She said it happened one state over.

I guess I am now in that stage of more understanding and developing communication skills.

Want an apple?

That is what Eli just asked me.  He knew full well I didn't want an apple, but he asked me anyway.  Because he knew he could get what he wanted (an apple) by manipulating the situation by asking me if I wanted an apple.

Eli: Mommy, do you want an apple?
Luna: No
Eli: Than I will get an apple for me (in a tone indicating offense at my declination of the offer)

Eye Twitch

Chris has been fighting a cold.  Last night he wasn't feeling so great and he took some cold medicine.  Later that evening I found him by the computer.  I asked him some question I no longer remember.  When he turned to answer he had one eye tightly shut.

Luna:  What's up eagle-eye?

Chris: Your beauty is so great I can only stand to look at you with one eye.

Apparently his eye had been twitching so much he got annoyed and decided to close it!

It's Healthy

Kiah: Root Beer is healthy for you.
Luna: It is? How?
Kiah: It has carrots in it and carrots are healthy for you
