Quite some time ago a house a few blocks from us blew-up. Some people (grown children of the home owner) were trying to cook some meth and, well, they did it wrong and ka-boom! I actually remember hearing... but it wasn't too loud because it is a little ways away. It really is a sad story.
Anyway, the house still sits in burnt shambles. Every once in awhile we drive past it. The other day Kiah asked what had happened to the house. I began to explain that some people addicted to drugs made some bad choices and caused an explosion. I was trying my best to explain what it means to be addicted to drugs but keep it simple and age appropriate. She seemed to understand and was satisfied with my answer.
About 5 minutes later Kiah asked, "how are they allergic to rugs?" It took me a minute to figure out what she was talking about. Apparently addicted to drugs was not a term in her lexicon. Her little search engine, just like Google, apparently asked "did you mean: allergic to rugs"
That is cute, it is fun to see how kids interpret things.
